TriSports.com is proud to be a sponsor of world class triathlete Leanda Cave for the 2009 racing season. As a recent transplant to Tucson, Arizona we welcome her to our family and “home” as our knock-out resident pro.
For most of her life Leanda has dedicated her passion to the sport of triathlon. Her triathlon career was sparked in 1994 with participation in the Ironkids Triathlon Series while residing in Cairns, North Queensland. Triathlon was meant as her alternative to competing in surf and swimming, but she ended up winning every race and the rest is history! 8 years after her first triathlon Leanda made the commitment to move back to England, her country of origin, and pursue a career as a professional triathlete.
Leanda’s long list of racing credentials include multiple ITU Long Course World Championship gold medals, multiple 70.3 victories, multiple Escape from Alcatraz victories – the list goes on and is impressive. Known for her brilliant swimming, she is a force to be reckoned with at all distances and is one of the most versatile athletes in the sport today.
Leanda has chosen to support the Blazeman Foundation in conjunction with the War on ALS as a voice for their fundraising causes. She was touched by knowing John Blaise and today helps his parents Bob and Mary-Anne in their efforts to pursue a cure for ALS and to help those with the disease.
